Big Pit Apprentices to 'Keep Mining Memories Alive'

May 22, 2017 - A former coal mine that is now a national museum has taken on two new apprentices to help keep underground memories alive.

It is more than 30 years since the last coal was dug at Big Pit in Torfaen, after which it became the National Coal Museum.

But many of its former miners hired to become guides and look after pit maintenance are now retiring.

The BBC's Tomos Morgan put on his miner's lamp to find out more.
