Proposed Changes to EIA Coal Data Collection Forms in 2017

 

 

May 26, 2017 - The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) is proposing changes to its coal data collection forms in 2017. 

 

The data collection forms and instructions with proposed revisions are as follows:



No changes are proposed to the following forms:



The proposed modifications were announced to the public via Federal Register notice 81 FR 63750 published September 16, 2016.  Interested parties were given 60 days (November 15, 2016) to submit comments.  EIA received five comments.  Comments received, along with the other documents connected to the clearance, including the proposed forms and instructions, are available for review on the Coal Survey Form Changes Proposed for 2017 webpage.


A second Federal Register notice 82 FR 23800 was published on May 24, 2017, to inform the public that EIA submitted its proposed information collection request for these forms to OMB for approval.  The publication of this notice provides a thirty (30) day comment period for the public to submit comments concerning this proposed collection. Written comments, preferably by email, are due by June 23, 2017, and they should be sent to:
