President Trump Already Told EPA Chief Scott Pruitt the US Will Exit the Paris Climate Accord

May 27, 2017 - President Trump is reportedly telling people privately that he already knows he wants out of the Paris Agreement, which stands in contrast to what he tweeted Saturday.

According to three unnamed sources in a report from Axios, Trump told multiple confidantes, including EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, that he has made his mind up to exit the international pact which seeks to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions.

Publicly, Trump has said otherwise.

On Saturday he tweeted that he would make his "final decision" on the Paris climate agreement next week.

The U.S. signed on to the agreement in 2016 under former President Barack Obama.

Trump campaigned on the idea that he would tear up the deal if elected. Lately, it seemed as though Trump was wavering on his campaign promise.
