EIA Hurricane Florence Electricity Status Report

September 15, 2018 - EIA has begun issuing a Hurricane Florence Electricity Status Report.

EIA will issue reports twice a day at about 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. or once a day at 5:00 p.m. as conditions warrant.

The Hurricane Florence Electricity Status Report contains data on current electric power loads compared with forecasts and recent history; electricity generation by energy source; nuclear plant status; customer outages; and weather data and projections.  Load and generation data are provided for the combined Carolinas region and for the five balancing authorities that manage the region’s electricity transmission grids.

In addition to the twice-daily Status Reports, hourly updates on current and historical load, and load versus forecast, will be available at the EIA-930 website.

Nuclear plant status is updated in the morning of each business day by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and is integrated with EIA data.
