January 7, 2019 - The Coal Markets Report has been updated for the business week ending January 4, 2019.

For the week, spot prices:

–        Increased $2.50 to $83.90 in Central Appalachia

–        Increased $1.95 to $65.70 in Northern Appalachia

–        Decreased $0.05 to $11.90 in Powder River Basin

–        Decreased $0.15 to $40.25 in Uinta Basin

Illinois Basin spot prices remain unchanged from the week ending  December 7, 2018.

Spot prices are in dollars per short ton and are for delivery in the second quarter of 2019.

NYMEX coal future prices are available through Wednesday, November 28, 2018. Please note there was no future volume or open interest for Eastern Rail or Western Rail at the time of publication.
