China Seaborne Met Coal Price Ends Three-Week Slide

 

 

November 3, 2020 - The three-week decline in Mysteel’s assessed prices for seaborne metallurgical coal of all specifications ceased over October 26-30, as prices gained support mainly from a sharp increase in Canadian coal prices. Prices of Australian met coal continued to decline last week, however.

As of October 30, Mysteel’s price for premium low-volatile (PLV) hard coking coal had firmed by $5/tonne on week to $130/t CFR North China. As of same day, prices for major Australian met coal brands finished softer on week, while that for Elkview coal – a premium medium-volatile hard-coking coal
