Met Coal Supports Infrastructure
October 30, 2024 - Steel is key to any infrastructure project, included in everything from railway tracks and buildings to bridges and electric vehicle charging stations. In order to create steel, though, one needs base resources. Metallurgical or met coal is used in the production of 70 percent of the world’s steel.
Warrior Met Coal produces resources for premium steel, operating two active mines in Alabama. The mines can produce up to 8.0 million metric tons of met coal per year at full capacity. Warrior Met Coal also has preparation plants, one of which can process up to 1,260 raw metric tons per hour. With over 25 years of remaining reserves at its existing operations and over 40 years at their new Blue Creek mine, Warrior Met Coal is prepared to support infrastructure needs for years to come.
