March 4, 2025 - The Metallurgical Coal Producers Association is hosting its annual conference and exhibition, May 18-20, 2025, at the Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, West Virginia. The theme for this year’s conference is “Community, Opportunity, Impact…Steel!” 

Ernie Thrasher, Founder, President and CEO, Xcoal Energy & Resources has accepted our invitation to speak at this year’s conference.  Ernie is an internationally known and respected individual respected for his knowledge of coal markets throughout the world. His coal experience began in 1974 working for a family-owned mining company with operations in Maryland. He held various positions in mine operations and mine management through 1981. He spent twenty-two years in various global marketing positions at Primary Coal and AMCI.

In 2003, Arnie formed Xcoal Energy & Resources. Today Xcoal is the largest exporter of U.S. coal. Xcoal specializes in global coal marketing and logistics, taking complete supply chain ownership through a competitive and creative logistics approach to deliver its global customers’ coal needs. Xcoal is involved in coal mine development, financing, and related infrastructure projects and actively pursues investment opportunities in the global coal supply chain.

  • Sunday afternoon – Exhibitors’ set-up exhibits

  • Sunday evening – Welcome Reception

• Monday, May 19 - Business session 8:00 a.m. until 12: noon

• Monday afternoon - Golf outing

• Monday afternoon – Clay shooting contest

• Monday evening - dinner and Awards Presentations for fishing, shooting and golf.

• Tuesday, May 20 - business session begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m.
