Miners Started a Protest Near the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine

 

 

July 14, 2018 - Miners who have been protesting for more than a week near the Verkhovna Rada have moved to the building of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine. The activists of independent trade unions of railways workers, educational workers came to support them.


Near the building of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine, miners began a round-the-clock protest action. They also wanted to install tents, but the police prevented them from doing so.


Miners of state-owned enterprises have been protesting in Kyiv for more than a week. First of all, they demand to overcome the problem of non-payment of wages, to adopt the effective program for the development of coal mining for 10 years and to adopt a draft law #8362. The miners also demand to return to the state property the coal seams of the mine "Kotlyarevska" and "Mine 1/3 Novogrodivska" of the SOE "Selidivvugillya".


Today, there were meetings and protests of the miners at the state-owned enterprises "Pervomaiskvugillya", "Myrnohradvugillya", "Selidivugollya", "Volynugollya". Workers expressed support to their colleagues in Kyiv.
