Why Morris and McKinley?

By Greg Baldt

September 23, 2018 - Tis the season for political theater where the average voter is overwhelmed with candidate claims and counterclaims. How does one pick the best person for the job regardless of political affiliation?

Like many things in life, timing is everything. West Virginia is in the midst of an economic energy revolution not seen since the birth of the steel industry. On the local front, we are fortunate to have Delegate Mark Zatezalo (geologist) to shepherd the oil and gas revolution. How lucky can we get? These early developmental stages will affect all of us for decades to come. He has worked with U.S. Congressman David McKinley who has been protecting the coal industry for over a decade and in large part is responsible for jobs, jobs, jobs.

Finally we have Patrick Morrisey who happens to be the current Attorney General of West Virginia, running for the US Senate. This guy is a tenacious bulldog who defeated the Obama Power Plan at the U.S. Supreme Court. (Can you say “Saving West Virginia coal jobs”) On the health front he strongly supports a patient’s rights for pre-exisiting conditions, a stance that is often misrepresented. He is also a Second Amendment guy who believes illegal immigrants are just that with no border amnesty. The thought of a West Virginia Molly Tibets brings tears to his eyes. And unlike “Joe” — Morrisey supports term limits. Congress was not intended to be a lifetime occupation. (This is closer than you think)

It is incumbent upon all voters to look forward and not to past failed policies. I urge you to select a team of local, state and national candidates whose vision reflects 21st Century reality.
