Saving US Coal Campaign Needs Your Financial Support

November 14, 2019 - CoalZoom in partnership with the Center for the Study of Carbon Dioxide and Global Change has announced the launching of the “Saving US Coal” campaign. This has the primary goal of generating public support and political will to repeal the CO2 Endangerment Finding and thus save the coal industry.

A budget has been prepared to produce the 24 video segments included in the campaign and to prepare the legal filing seeking to repeal of the 2009 CO2 Endangerment Finding. The majority, that is $250,000 of the funding, is assigned to the writing, editing, filming and post-processing of the video segments.

An additional $50,000 is targeted for marketing the video segments to key lawmakers, staff, media, and industry professionals. The final $150,000 is assigned to work in preparing and following up with the legal filing that will be submitted requesting appeal of the EPA’S CO2 Endangerment Finding.

The groundwork has been laid for this proposal and the introductory video has been produced explaining the objectives. The video and transcript can be viewed here.

And now, we need YOUR help. Whether you are a coal operator, manufacturer of mining machinery, supplier of goods and services, consultant, educator, lobbyist, coal miner or coal transporter, you earn a living associated with the coal industry, and your earning is at risk.

Please join us in ‘Saving US Coal” and donate $50 or $100 towards this campaign. If you are a leader of an organization, please consider more. The Institute for the Human Environment operates as a program of the Center for the Study of Carbon Dioxide and Global Change, a 501(c)(3) U.S. public charity. All donations are therefore tax-deductible.
