Posting on EIA's Final 2021 Annual Electric Generator Report Data

 


September 23, 2022 - We have posted the 2021 final Annual Electric Generator Report from Form EIA-860.


The 2021 data include an additional 1,014 plants, representing 66.1 gigawatts (GW) of capacity.

The battery storage capacity addition in this cycle was notable. The data show 29.6 GW in 2021 (4.7 GW operating and 24.9 proposed), which is significantly more than the 15.9 GW last year (1.5 GW operating and 14.4 GW proposed).
