EnergyTech UP Prize

The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management is participating in the American-Made EnergyTech University Prize (EnergyTech UP), sponsored by DOE’s Office of Technology Transitions.

EnergyTech UP is collegiate competition that challenges students to identify a promising energy technology, assess its market potential, and create a business plan for commercialization. The Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management will be awarding a $25,000 bonus prize to teams who develop the most innovative plan focused on carbon dioxide removal.

To enter the 2023 competition, students just need a short summary and slide deck addressing the energy technology they will be leveraging to create their business plan. Ideas leveraging university, national laboratory, or student energy technologies are welcome.

Anyone interested in competing is encouraged to attend the final EnergyTech UP informational webinar on January 17 at 3:00 p.m. ET to connect with regional conveners, network with peers, and receive guidance on submission ideas.

Register for the final informational webinar.

The registration deadline for EnergyTech UP is Thursday, January 26.
