September 14, 2023 - The PA Coal Alliance has announced the winners of their annual mine safety and reclamation awards, and one of the winners is in Indiana County.

Rosebud Mining Company’s Heilwood Mine in Indiana County was recently awarded a Keystone Mining Safety Award in the Small Continuous Mine category.  The award is based on man-hours per year and the non-fatal day lost rates in the prior calendar year.

The awards are presented to PA Coal Alliance members to recognize the outstanding safety records.  The data is retrieved from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Mine Safety and Health Administration and Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
