April 11, 2024 - EIA has updated the Weekly Coal Production report for the week ending April 6, 2024.

• Estimated U.S. coal production totaled about 7.7 million short tons (MMst)
• This production estimate is 12.5% lower than last week's estimate and 27.8% lower than the production estimate in the comparable week in 2023
• East of the Mississippi River coal production totaled 3.3 MMst
• West of the Mississippi River coal production totaled 4.3 MMst
• U.S. year-to-date coal production totaled 133.1 MMst, 15.6% lower than the comparable year-to-date coal production in 2023
