“Mike was one of the most knowledgeable and skilled engineers on belt conveyors that I ever knew,” said Calvin Kidd, retired long-time Sales Manager of Long-Airdox Company. “He was always there when needed and I recall he was responsible on numerous occasions for getting mines ‘back in the coal’ after a breakdown, and always with a large smile on his face. Mike is sadly missed.”

Mike passed away in North Carolina with his family by his side after a long battle with cancer. Mike was born and raised in southern West Virginia and was proud to call it his home. He was a devoted Chris tian and always had his family covered in his daily prayer. Mike was a proud Army veteran who truly loved his country. He was a jack of all trades and could fix absolutely anything. If anyone had a question, he would always find the answer and help, no matter the issue.

Mike was a most talented world-class belt conveyor engineer, travelling extensively, and lived by the saying “an honest day’s pay for an honest day’s work.” He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and their accomplishments. He truly loved his family, including many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
