April 4, 2025 - The countdown is on!  It’s only weeks until the Metallurgical Coal Producers Association’s annual conference and exhibition, May 18-20, 2025, at the Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, West Virginia. 

MCPA conference activities include:

• Saturday, May 17 - Annual Fishing Tournament, 6:30 a.m.
• Sunday, May 18:
  • Sunday afternoon – Exhibitors’ set-up exhibits
  • Sunday evening – Welcome Reception
• Monday, May 19 - Business session 8:00 a.m. until 12: noon

• Monday afternoon - Golf outing
• Monday afternoon – Clay shooting contest
• Monday evening - dinner and Awards Presentations for fishing, shooting and golf.

• Tuesday, May 20 - business session begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. 

The conference starts with executives from our six coal producer members in Central Appalachia with operations in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.  MCPA’s member companies have 10,000 employees at 100 mines producing most of the met coal mined in the United States.

They will be talking about today’s markets, and the opportunities and challenges facing metallurgical coal as it relates to the actions in Washington and around the world. Met coal is a global commodity. About three fourths of the met coal mined in the U. S. is exported to foreign markets.
