Andy Eidson, CEO and Director, Alpha Metallurgical Resources, to Open Bluefield Coal & Mining Show

 

 

April 24, 2025 - The Chamber of Commerce of the Two Virginias has just announced that Andy Eidson, CEO and Director of Alpha Metallurgical Resources, will open the Bluefield Coal & Mining Show and provide the Keynote Address at the Media and Exhibitor Appreciation Breakfast on September 10, 2025.


“We are thrilled that Mr. Eidson is able to join us and to present his views on the future of the coal industry,” said Jeff Disibbio, President & CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of the Two Virginias, which owns and produces the show “This is certainly an exciting start to our event and we look forward very much to providing a Bluefield welcome to Andy as well as to the mining folks from all 25 coal-producing states of the country, who will attend.”  

 

Andy Eidson


Andy Eidson has served as chief executive officer and director since January 2023. He previously served as president from August 2022 and as president and chief financial officer since December 2020. He also served as executive vice president and chief financial officer from July 2016 and as interim co-chief executive officer for Contura Energy from May 2019 through July 2019. 


Mr. Eidson previously served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Alpha Natural Resources, Inc., a position he held from March 2016. His previous roles with Alpha included senior vice president, strategy and business development, and vice president, mergers and acquisitions.


Prior to joining Alpha in July 2010, Mr. Eidson held several financial positions across industry sectors, including at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.


Andy holds a bachelor of science degree, cum laude, in commerce and business administration from the University of Alabama.

 

The Bluefield Coal & Mining Show is an iconic name in the industry and has supported the coal industry for very nearly 50 years. Some 6,000 visitors are expected to converge on Bluefield, WV, making this the largest event in the coal calendar this year.
