October 8, 2025 - We updated the annual historical data for our Annual Electric Power Industry Report to include 2024. Based on Form EIA-861, the data tables include annual electric sales, revenue, number of customers, and prices by sector for the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories.

In addition, to make the data more easily accessible, we recently:

• Reformatted files into one spreadsheet, down from four
• Added new data from 1960 to 1989
• Broke the series into three time periods:
• 1960–1989
• 1990–2009
• 2010–present
