November 6, 2025 - The National Mining Association (NMA) has released this statement in support of the expansion of the Critical Minerals List: 

"We greatly appreciate these key additions to the list and continue to believe that all minerals are critical," said Rich Nolan, NMA president and CEO. "This administration -- and the USGS itself -- has acknowledged the challenges associated with any specific list given the reality that what is considered essential today might change tomorrow given the rapid pace of innovation, and our recent experience has shown the world how global events can redefine criticality overnight. Today's step to expand the list is crucial in securing our supply chains, but we will continue to seek the expansion of the list to ensure that the U.S. has the abundant domestic resources it needs, when it needs them."
