Warrior Met Coal Adopts Berry Elementary and High in Alabama

December 2, 2025 - “Warrior believes the strength of our future begins with the investments we make in our communities today,” said Wes Cox, communications manager for Warrior Met Coal in a press release sent to Townsquare Media.

“Partnering with Berry Elementary and Berry High School is more than a commitment to education; it’s a commitment to the community’s long-term growth. When we support our schools, we’re helping build a stronger, more resilient foundation for families, opportunity, and the generations to come.”

As part of the partnership, Warrior Met Coal will provide volunteers for school events, assist with the Santa Shop, support teacher appreciation efforts, and help with programs that build engagement and hands-on learning. The Sunshine Cart is one of those programs and it gives special education students real-world experience in customer service, communication, and workplace skills while offering snacks and treats for teachers.

Berry Elementary principal Darrell Thomas says the partnership couldn’t come at a better time. “As our community continues to grow, this collaboration allows us to strengthen support for our students and reinforce the connection between local industry and education.”

At Berry High, the focus includes helping students prepare for life after graduation with mock interviews, career-development workshops, and field trips that expose students to new opportunities.

Principal Kim Williams says the support is already making a difference: “Warrior Met’s involvement is a true benefit to our schools and our community.”

To kick things off, Warrior Met Coal presented both schools with generous donations to support their unique needs.
