Volunteer to Support UWUA Members
December 7, 2025 - Below is a message from Utility Workers Union of America:
You may have already heard that the UWUA Veterans Committee is launching a new, member-run mental health support hotline. This line will be available for any UWUA member to call 24/7, any day of the year.
Utility workers work in critical roles with major responsibilities and demanding jobs. In addition, many of our members are veterans who served their country prior to becoming union members. It is vital that we look out for one another and support both the physical and mental health of everyone in the UWUA.
We’ve received a very positive response so far, but we’re still looking for volunteers for the hotline from Regions II and V. Volunteers will receive training on how to answer support calls, and be expected to be “on call” one weekend per month.
-
Region II: Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia
-
Region V: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Guam, and other Pacific Rim Territories
If you are a member of Region II or V and have an interest in helping out your union family members, please reach out to Veterans Committee Chair Chris Ericksen at cericksen@uwua.net.
