Introducing the Cat® AI Assistant. It’s a proactive partner like no other — designed, developed and supported by Caterpillar to solve our customers’ toughest challenges and transform the way the world builds, powers and moves.
What is the Cat AI Assistant?
The Cat AI Assistant is a group of AI agents operating as a single assistant. It will be embedded in our websites and applications, as well as available in-cab in machines in the future. The Cat AI Assistant uses the proprietary Caterpillar knowledge base to give in-the-moment answers and recommendations that help customers take confident action.
What Can the Cat AI Assistant Do?
The Cat AI Assistant delivers information on service, fleet status and health, purchasing and more. Inside the cab, it uses voice activation to adjust settings, guide troubleshooting, and connect users to the right resources across Cat apps and websites. It’s built to understand and respond to speech, text, images and video. But it doesn’t just follow commands—it’s designed to help users take the best next step by offering follow-up prompts.
On our websites and applications, customers will be able to use the Cat AI Assistant to help with activities like parts-buying and service planning. For example, the Cat AI Assistant will make it possible to remotely check fuel levels, book an appointment for service, and access diagnostics that indicate operational efficiency of the machines.
In the cab, the Cat AI Assistant is designed to support machine operators. The Cat AI Assistant will be able to coach inexperienced operators, set alerts, and adjust machine settings to improve operator comfort and productivity. Using voice commands, the operator can ask questions about how to use machine features and the Cat AI Assistant will respond with the correct information pulled from the operating manual.

What Information Does the Cat AI Assistant Use?
The Cat AI Assistant leverages data that is exclusive to Caterpillar, including operation and maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, purchase history and experience from millions of assets in the field. This means customers get reliable information that is specific to their machines and their work.
