March 30, 2026 - John Hull III was a member of Local Union 352 and was murdered in a gun battle on February 3, 1978, by thugs at the nonunion Bowersock Mine located in Pike County, Indiana during the 1978 BCOA strike. Before his death in 2025, the late Brother Roger Myers (former District 12 IEB member) designated funds to see that Brother Hull’s gravesite be honored and memorialized so that future generations will be aware of the struggles of Indiana coal miners.

Under the leadership of Brother Steve Bottoms, a member of Local Union 352, they had John’s tombstone engraved and invited Brother Hull’s surviving family toattend the dedication.
