West Virginia Coal Hall of Fame Inducts 28th Class
April 5, 2026 - The West Virginia Coal Hall of Fame inducted its 28th class on Tuesday at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. Six leaders in the industry were honored with a dinner and induction ceremony.
The six members of the 2026 class include;
- Charles Bearse, President/CEO, Blackhawk Mining
- Michael Day, CEO, Eagle Summit Resources
- Robert Moore, President/CEO, American Consolidated Natural Resources
- Gary Hartsog, President, Alpha Engineering Services
- Keith Hainer, President, Matrix Design Group
- Bill Reid, Founder/CEO & President, CoalZoom
West Virginia Coal Association President Chris Hamilton said the honorees should take the time to look back on their journeys.
“Each of the individuals recognized here tonight, they all have a distinctive journey and very unique qualifications,” Hamilton said. “It serves to reminisce throughout the years to give these individuals time to reflect on their stellar careers and all they’ve done to move this great industry forward.”
The West Virginia Coal Hall of Fame is a joint initiative between West Virginia Coal Mining Institute and West Virginia Coal Association.
