May 27, 2026 - Below is a message from Chris Hamilton, President, West Virginia Coal Association: 

As we previously announced, WVCA's Annual Membership meeting is planned for August 6 & 7 at the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, WV.

The decision to keep with tradition and return to the Greenbrier was made by the Board of Directors following a review of costs associated with hosting the meeting at the resort, its impact on WVCA’s finances and the consideration of alternative meeting venues.

With that backdrop, we are working to reduce the overall cost of this year's meeting without sacrificing the quality of our meeting and your stay at the Greenbrier. One of the changes you’ll note in this year's program is the meeting will be confined to two full days instead of spreading it over three days.  Accordingly, the meeting is set to convene on Thursday, August 6 and will run through Friday, August 7.

The other change worth mentioning is in lieu of meeting attendees and sponsors providing cash donations for gift cards and door prizes, we ask that all meeting attendees and their companies sponsor our meeting at various levels to help offset overall meeting costs. 

Our Board of Directors will convene on Thursday, August 6 and we plan to commence our program on the afternoon of Thursday, August 6 with a Speaker’s Program followed by our Welcoming Reception.  Friday, August 7 will feature a morning speakers' program followed by an afternoon of golf, tennis, croquet, and other recreation activities. Friday will conclude with our traditional steak and lobster fest buffet and post dining entertainment. 

We are still in the process of putting all the pieces together and exact times for this year's meeting, including a non-golfer’s event on Friday afternoon and a couple of new activities being offered by the Hotel.
