| Wallace & Gromit, brass band, ice cream — and a cheese raffle
This Sunday afternoon at Redhills we’re hosting a wonderfully joyful family event: a screening of Wallace & Gromit’s A Grand Day Out, with live musical accompaniment from the Durham Miners Association Brass Band.
And yes — there will be a cheese-based raffle.
Doors open at 2.30pm for a 3pm start, with drinks and refreshments available.
In the first half, the band will play a 40-minute set of music for all ages, including pieces from Disney’s Encanto and Bluey. They’ll also be using a surprise percussion instrument.
After a 25-minute interval — enough time to buy an ice cream, have a drink, enter the raffle and even have a go at playing a euphonium, trombone, tenor horn or cornet — it will be time for the main event: Wallace & Gromit on screen, brought to life by live brass band accompaniment.
The show will finish at around 4.30pm.
It’s fun, relaxed, family-friendly and a little bit silly — exactly as a Sunday afternoon at Redhills should be.
We’d love to see you - it’ll be a grand day out.
