Residents Enjoy West Virginia Day at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine
June 22, 2026 - The Folks in Beckley are celebrating West Virginia in style. Folks are invited to attend the West Virginia Day Festival at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine.
Those who attend can look forward to local vendors, live entertainment, and discounted tours to explore the history of mining in West Virginia.
Parks and Recreation Director with the City of Beckley, Leslie Baker-Gray says she’s glad to see everyone out and about enjoying West Virginian Culture.
“If their local they’re just so glad we’re offering these discounted rates and it’s like my daddy was a coal miner and kind of forgot how hard he worked and that really makes me proud and I talked to a group of people in Florida and they were like we had no idea that your coal did so much development for this country. So it’s two-fold what we do here and yes it really does instill a sense of pride,” said Gray-Baker.
While folks are there they can enjoy specialty food like pepperoni rolls and West Virginia style hot dogs. Gray-Baker invites anyone who missed the festival time to come out next year. The festival is always held on June 30th.
