Inaugural Miner Camp in North Dakota Shows Students Career Opportunities in Coal
June 25, 2026 - In North Dakota, freshmen students at Beulah High School participated in the inaugural “Miner Camp” event, which involved a field trip to the Coteau’s Freedom Mine in April. The students went on a tour and then were asked to select careers such as human resources, IT, welding, heavy equipment operating, geology, among other careers to learn about things like their work day, salary and education, explained BHS Principal Brandon Zahn. He said he is hoping to work with Coteau to provide the field trip at least once a school year.
