July 15, 2026 - West Virginia's Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine is hosting an educational event on all things coal! 

You’ll learn how it is formed, how it is mined, and the history of coal mining in our area.

The presentation is on Friday, July 17, at 11 a.m. in the schoolhouse and is open to the public. 

The presenter is Jim Britton, the coal program West Virginia Geological Survey manager.

It’s a great opportunity to learn and engage with the community.
