August 14, 2026 - Below is a message from Chris Hamilton, President, West Virginia Coal Association:

WVU's 2026 "Coal Rush" game is set for October 10th at Mountaineer Field and we are partnering with the State Journal to sponsor a Friends of Coal VIP tent and pregame rally at the stadium. 

This will be part of an expanded pregame event and opportunity to showcase our industry on multiple levels.

Please consider joining with us for the pregame festivities which include several sponsorship levels and game tickets.  

This has been a great event over the past couple years highlighting the huge economic and cultural significance and overall importance of our industry and workers to our state.
