Thousands of activists, UN bureaucrats, and Hollywood types fly in for Climate Week NYC to lecture the rest of us about our carbon footprint – then unwind at one of the dozens of rooftop happy hours and receptions the week is famous for (yes, really – it’s basically a week-long conference with an open bar). CFACT Nation will be right there in the middle of it. On the ground with our cameras rolling. This year that matters more than most. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) recently went on national television and laughed off some of her own greatest hits – the world is going to end in 12 years, defunding the police, abolishing prisons – with a shrug and a punchline: “Woke 1 was crazy.” She wasn’t talking directly about climate and her Green New Scam. But she didn’t have to be.  It’s the same move, and it tells you everything about how the other side operates: when a slogan stops selling, you don’t abandon the goal – you retire the label and roll out a friendlier one. Watch Climate Week closely enough this year and you’ll see the same rebrand in progress.  Same “existential crisis.” Same trillion-dollar wish list. Same control over you and me. Just softer language and a better focus group. This isn’t new, either.  Back in 2019, when the young congresswoman first floated the idea that having children might be a mistake because of the climate – asking her followers point-blank whether it’s still “OK to still have children” – the press treated it as a bold, brave question.  Seven years and one “Woke 1 was crazy” later, it’s suddenly an embarrassing remark nobody wants to remember saying out loud. They’re not sorry. They’re just better at hiding it now. The truth is, no amount of polished new packaging can hide that global governments and activist groups have already funneled more than $16 trillion into the so-called “green transition” – and they’re burning through another $2 trillion a year chasing it.  Manhattan itself was supposed to be underwater by the year 2000, according to the same crowd who now wants your gas stove, your car, and your bank account.  The ice caps were supposed to be gone by 2012. Al Gore said so.  But go look outside. None of it happened. All of their green schemes got funded anyway. We don’t just point this out from a distance – we go where they are. This year, CFACT is bringing something to Climate Week that’s bigger than a clipboard and a petition. I can’t tell you what yet – but I can tell you the cameras will be there, and you’re going to want to see it. And the good news: the other side is on defense.  Trump pulled America out of the UN’s original 1992 climate treaty – not just Paris, the whole thing – a bigger and more durable win than most people realize.  The EPA’s endangerment finding is being rolled back.  Offshore wind projects up and down the coast, from Rhode Island to Maryland to California, have been stopped cold. They’re not winning the argument. They’re just hoping you stop paying attention long enough to lose interest. Don’t.
