Warrior Met Coal Shares Hit 52-Week High

 


September 2, 2026 - Shares of Warrior Met Coal climbed to a new 52-week high Wednesday, extending a recent rally in the Alabama-based metallurgical coal producer.


The stock traded as high as $111.41 after closing the previous session at $106.23. Shares were last reported around $111.13.


The advance comes as analysts maintain a generally positive outlook for Warrior Met Coal. Four analysts currently rate the stock a Buy and three recommend holding shares, with a consensus price target of $102.60.


B. Riley Financial recently raised its price target on Warrior Met Coal to $123 from $117 while maintaining a Buy rating. UBS Group lowered its target to $98 from $100 but also kept a Buy recommendation, while Citigroup reiterated its Buy rating.


The stock's 50-day moving average stands at $88.50, compared with a 200-day average of $89.22. Warrior Met Coal has a market capitalization of approximately $5.8 billion.


The share-price gains follow stronger-than-expected quarterly results from the company. Warrior Met Coal reported earnings of $1.65 per share, exceeding analysts' consensus estimate of $1.40.


Quarterly revenue reached $509.69 million, above expectations of $488.46 million and up 71.3% from the same period a year earlier. The company reported a net margin of 13.05% and return on equity of 10.02%.


Analysts currently expect Warrior Met Coal to earn approximately $5.74 per share for the full fiscal year.


Recent regulatory filings also showed stock sales by company executives. Chief Executive Officer Walter J. Scheller sold 50,000 shares on Aug. 24 at an average price of $110, a transaction valued at $5.5 million. Director Stephen D. Williams sold 4,800 shares on Aug. 19 for approximately $500,300.
