September 3, 2026 - Eriez® has added three new models to its SafeHold® APL Series of permanent lifting magnets. The APL-52, APL-70 and APL-100 expand the line's lifting capacity to 10,000 pounds (4,546 kg) and support the handling of larger steel plates, cut parts and fabricated components.
The SafeHold APL Series features crane-activated permanent lifting magnets that allow operators to load and unload steel sheets and plates from a safer distance without manual magnet activation or release. The series also eliminates the need for costly battery backup systems found on many electro lift magnet systems.
The new models are suited for a variety of metalworking applications, including steel fabrication, service center operations and large-part machining. They can be used to load and unload steel plates, position cut parts and handle fabricated components in plasma cutting, laser cutting, waterjet cutting and other material handling environments.
“As lift magnet ratings have become more stringent and manufacturers continue to place greater emphasis on workplace safety and productivity, demand has grown for lifting solutions capable of handling larger materials,” said Andrew Kloecker, Senior Sales Product Specialist at Eriez. “The new APL models help address that need and, in some applications, allow users to move from multiple lifting devices and beam assemblies to a single-magnet solution, helping simplify lifting operations, improve efficiency and reduce handling hazards.”
