September 6, 2026 - A Russian missile strike damaged the Dnipro Metallurgical Plant (DMP), part of the DCH Steel industrial group, during an overnight attack on September 5, according to a company statement.

No injuries were reported at the facility, as employees had moved to shelters before the strike occurred.

The attack damaged both industrial and administrative buildings at the plant. Company officials said assessments are underway to determine the full extent of the destruction.

Emergency crews from Ukraine's State Emergency Service, along with police, responded to the site following the attack.

DMP was one of two Ukrainian steel plants targeted that night. The Kametstal steelworks in Kamianske was also struck, resulting in the deaths of five people and injuries to four employees. The attack reportedly caused significant damage to production equipment and infrastructure, forcing the facility to suspend operations.

The latest strikes follow previous attacks on the Zaporizhstal steelworks in August. Ballistic missile strikes on August 11 and August 27 resulted in seven worker deaths and 21 injuries. Damage was reported to the plant's power and transportation infrastructure, as well as its blast furnace and coke-making operations. Production was subsequently halted.

Before the latest attack, DMP completed a rolling campaign from July 17 through July 25, producing approximately 5,500 metric tons of steel products. Output included the plant's standard range of angle bars and channel sections in several sizes.

The company's next rolling campaign had been scheduled for September and October.
