Coal Association of Canada Launches Alberta Outreach Initiative

September 15, 2026 - The Coal Association of Canada is launching a province-wide public outreach initiative to connect with Albertans who want to learn more about steelmaking coal and support a strong, responsible Canadian coal sector.

Over the coming weeks, Albertans may see or receive outreach through text messaging and other communications from the Association or MeetCoal.ca, inviting them to stay informed, share their views and add their names in support of Canada’s steelmaking coal industry.

“We know Albertans care deeply about how our natural resources are developed, and their perspectives and voices should be part of shaping Alberta’s path forward,” says Robin Campbell, president of the Coal Association of Canada. “This initiative is about listening, sharing information and giving people a simple way to stand behind the workers, families and communities that depend on responsible resource development.”

Canada’s steelmaking coal industry supports jobs, businesses and communities while supplying an essential ingredient used to produce the steel needed for infrastructure, transportation, construction and modern life.

Albertans who want to learn more and take action can add their name in support of Canada’s steelmaking coal sector through the Coal Association’s Meet Coal initiative at meetcoal.ca.
