Hexagon Launches CAS Insights to turn Mine Safety Data Into Action
September 16, 2026 - Hexagon has announced the release of CAS Insights, a web-based analytics application that transforms data generated by Hexagon Collision Avoidance System (CAS) fleets into a fleet-wide view of safety performance.
Mining operations generate large volumes of collision-avoidance events and device data every shift, but much of that information can remain on individual vehicles. CAS Insights brings interaction, overspeed, device status, and firmware data together by location, shift, and time period, helping safety teams move from reviewing individual alerts to understanding patterns across the operation.
Purpose-built for Hexagon CAS, the application gives safety managers objective evidence to identify recurring hotspots, confirm whether controls are working as intended, and focus improvement efforts where risk is concentrated. Fleet-wide device and firmware visibility also helps maintenance and technology teams keep CAS coverage reliable and reduce blind spots.
Key capabilities include:
“Mines do not need more disconnected data; they need intelligence they can act on,” said Dave Goddard, President, Hexagon’s Mining Division. “CAS Insights turns the data already being generated by collision avoidance systems into a clearer picture of risk across the fleet. That helps customers validate controls, target improvement, and make safer, more consistent decisions.”
CAS Insights also advances Hexagon’s broader ore-to-value vision: one technology ecosystem connecting physical reality and digital intelligence across the mining lifecycle. Safe, reliable material movement is fundamental to preserving value as ore travels from the resource model through haulage and processing. By adding an analytics layer to Hexagon’s safety technologies, CAS Insights applies mining intelligence to that connected ecosystem, helping operations learn from every interaction and continuously improve decisions.
CAS Insights is native to Hexagon CAS, requires no custom data mapping, supports customer-managed map tile integration with WMS, and is accessible through a web browser. It establishes a foundation for broader analytics across Hexagon’s safety portfolio, with connections planned across Vehicle Intervention System (VIS), 4D Radar, and Personal Alert.
