September 21, 2026 - West Virginia’s General Election is set for November 3rd and state legislative races are beginning to heat up around the state. That’s why we are calling on you and your colleagues to help us raise sufficient political funds to help support those candidates that support our industry. 

As you’re well aware, no other business or industry is impacted quite the same as the coal industry by Government or Legislative Actions. That’s why we are asking you today to consider a personal contribution to our Political Action Committee — West Virginians For Coal. The maximum individual campaign contribution is $2800 per election or $5600 per election cycle.  

Please note that WVCA Members and Interested individuals may contribute to: “West Virginians For Coal” by credit card by accessing our secure PAC account here:  https://www.wvcoal.com/pac. 

Company PACs may contribute up to $5,000 directly to West Virginians For Coal and Individual campaign contributions cannot exceed $2800 per election or $5600 per election cycle including the Primary and General Elections. 

The Association administers two separate PACs, West Virginians For Coal, which is a traditional PAC that receives personal donations and makes political contributions to individual candidates.  The WV Coal Victory PAC is our other PAC, which is an “Independent Expenditure” or Super PAC that can accept corporate contributions and works independently of but in support of pro coal candidates.   

Accordingly, we are also asking you and your company to consider a corporate contribution to the “Coal Victory PAC” which is an “Independent Expenditure” designed to expend funds in support of our endorsed candidates. The Coal Victory PAC will sponsor radio ads and direct mail pieces independently of candidates running for election.
