MCPA's 50th Annual Fall Meeting and Awards Banquet is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, 2026, beginning at 5:30 p.m., Russell County Conference Center, 139 Highland Drive, Lebanon, VA 24266. MCPA and Virginia Energy are excited to honor and showcase their reclamation and safety awards winners for 2026.
This gathering provides an opportunity for MCPA and Virginia Energy to recognize companies and their employees for their commitment and hard work in reclamation and safety programs. The meeting brings together individuals from various agencies to ensure that land affected by surface and underground coal mining is properly reclaimed, resulting in award-winning sites after mining operations have been completed.
Through efforts such as permitting, mine inspections, operator support, and training, this event highlights the strong partnership between companies and regulatory agencies producing outstanding reclamation initiatives.
Virginia Energy recognizes the employees for their commitment to safety annually.
The primary mission of Coal Mine Safety is to protect the lives and health of all people employed at surface and underground coal mining operations, and to ensure mine operator compliance with mine safety requirements.
We have a short program beginning at 5:30 p.m.
All MCPA members are invited to attend the meeting and banquet. There is not a charge for this event as we have secured financial sponsors.
