American Coal Council Releases Film Celebrating the American Coal Workers

October 21, 2026 - The American Coal Council (ACC) released “Bedrock,” a powerful new 90-second film highlighting the hardworking men and women who mine American coal and the future they are helping to build.

“Bedrock” tells the story of an industry that has long served as a foundation of American energy, economic opportunity and community strength, according to the association. Through compelling visuals and authentic storytelling, the film showcases the people whose dedication helps provide the reliable, secure energy that supports millions of Americans every day.

“Coal miners and the communities they support remain the bedrock of America’s energy strength,” said Emily Arthun, chief executive officer, ACC. “This film is a tribute to the men and women whose work powers our nation and sustains local economies across coal-producing regions.”

The ACC developed “Bedrock” as a resource for the entire coal industry, and its impact will be greatest when industry leaders, companies, associations, employees and supporters share it broadly.
