West River Conveyors Highlights Custom Engineering and Steel Fabrication Projects

October 30, 2026 - West River Conveyors recently highlighted two completed projects demonstrating its ability to deliver custom equipment for specific customer needs, from a conveyor transfer chute in the paper industry to a large steel fabrication for a mining operation.

The projects showcase different aspects of West River’s work: designing and installing equipment to address operating problems and fabricating components to a customer’s specifications.

Custom Chute Addresses Transfer-Point Problems

For a paper-industry customer in the southeastern United States, West River worked with Viacore Solutions to develop and install a custom conveyor chute.

The team began by scanning the existing system, then designed the chute around the application’s operating conditions before completing installation.

According to West River, the finished installation resolved sealing problems, prevented material spillage and eliminated visible dust at the transfer point. The company also reported that the design keeps material flow and the conveyor belt centered while maintaining system alignment.

The project illustrates West River’s approach to conveyor engineering: assessing the existing equipment and operating challenges, then developing a solution tailored to the application.

Steel Fabrication Completed on Schedule

In a separate project, West River fabricated an overflow launder for a new customer in the gold-mining industry.

Built to the customer’s design, the assembly comprised two halves made from A36 carbon steel, each weighing approximately 2,550 pounds.

The work included rolling, forming, fit-up and welding. West River reported that its team completed the fabrication on schedule.

The company credited its employees’ workmanship and commitment to meeting the deadline and welcomed the opportunity to establish a relationship with a new customer.

Together, the projects highlight West River’s capabilities in custom conveyor engineering, installation and steel fabrication across industrial applications.
