MINING CONSULTANTS AND ENGINEERS, PLEASE STAND UP AND FIGHT FOR COAL

January 15, 2020 - “Today, we are appealing to another major group serving the coal industry, and we are referring to the mining consultants and those supplying engineering services to coal,“ said Bill Reid, Managing Editor, CoalZoom. “So, John T. Boyd, Weir International, Marshal Miller, Stantec, SynTerra, GAI Consultants, Stagg Resource Consultants, Summit Engineering, River Consulting and Skelly and Loy, as well as all other consultants, please join us and fight for our beloved coal industry and consulting industry with all the fine men and women in it.

“As you all know, if what’s left of the US coal industry is to be saved, Obama’s EPA CO2 endangerment finding must be overturned quickly and we are appealing to you to help to fund our efforts to make it happen. We need to raise $450,000 before January 31.”

It is now widely known that in order to stop the destruction of coal, CoalZoom has teamed up with respected industry leader, Fred Palmer, and internationally renowned scientist, Dr. Craig Idso, in the campaign “Saving US Coal” with the single goal of overturning the CO2 endangerment finding.

We are suggesting that mining consultants proceed as follows:

1.    Appoint a coordinator in each company to bring employees attention to the “Saving US Coal” campaign at CoalZoom.

2.    Arrange a company-wide meeting to discuss a plan.

3.    Encourage employees to take part and make a donation for coal.

4.    Consider making a one-time contribution of 100% of each company’s 2020 budget for donations for a single donation to “Saving US Coal”.

5.    Consider making a company donation to match your employee donations.

The CoalZoom campaign was launched in November and already four videos have been produced with a fifth just released last week. The legal filing is planned for February as donations come in. The progress with “Saving US Coal” and the videos can be seen here.

“Each consultant and engineer serving the coal industry has a very simple choice to make,” said Reid. “Either sit and do nothing or stand and fight for our beloved industry that has helped make America great. I implore you to stand up with us and join the fight by making a donation to “Saving US Coal” before January 31. A form can be found here for your use and it’s easy to do. Please, please help now!

“Thank you!”
